Using the fact that you consider something in pre to be over powered carrying over to the rest of the game is flawed. Conjure phantasm when I first got it in pre owned everything. Does that mean conjure is over powered?
Say what you want, doesn't really matter though. With all the summon stones we get for free from the traveller, it's like we have ever lasting summoning stones anyway. I got close to 80 all up, and I'm not likely to ever use them up at all.

Or make it require to have 15% DP or more to be able to use it.
No survivor helper, not using it while winning.

That's what happens when your frontliners pop the Gaki.
And wow, using the fire imp summon in presearing against level 3-10's to argue against a level 20 whatever used against level 24-30's in post HM...REALLY not the smartest argument. Also, the Mysterious stones don't allow you to choose what you get, so you might get a Juggernaut in an area with a ton of anti-melee, or a Crystal Spider in an area with a ton OF melee. Wow, that's so imbalanced.
You people are ridiculous with the whining about something that really won't help much AT ALL. Solo farming...yeah, that's a smart argument. What are you solo farming that a random summon won't completely screw up your run? If you farm anything in HM solo, popping a summon will make you lose aggro, and that summon will DIE QUICKLY, therefore giving you really no advantage at all.
Elephantaliste: no. Just....no. Everlasting Essence would be insanely imbalanced. Having one extra 5-skill creature not on the party list(thus not easily healed by an all-human party), not affected by party-wide buffs or cons, and with a mind of its own for the most part is NOT even remotely the same as an everlasting party-wide attack, cast, recharge and movement speed buff. Seriously.
Common sense people...

Oh come on.
First, presear imbaimp does not stop being powerfull ally in post. People DO pop him all the way till L20. Why? He is for free. Does not eat casting time, does not cost any resource. In worst case he does nothing but dies he still absorbs enough damage to go "YAY, he saved monk about 10 energy on heals."
L20 summon in HM is as useful as any henchman character. AI monks heals him and humans can just pop prot spirit and leave rest on self heal (which most summons posses), so staying power is not issue. HM mobs are not as damaging as you want to believe, summon can happily last his duration in vanquish run.
In fact, summons usually have better skillbars than henchmen. However, since everlasting summon would be free, you do not really need to get "perfect" one for occasion, now do you? One click is not bad price even for AL60 no-skill warm body distraction. Anything extra would be welcome bonus.
Also, shall claim that in 4 man area everlasting summon would be rival power of conset to say least. There, it increases potentia of party by ~20%, turning 4 man to 5 man (at least). I see no summon i would not like to appear by my side as i would be vanquishing, say, eastern frontier.
Farming: Hello, free, zero skill slot, damage. Really, That is just nobrainer. Have you ever tried to use summon as farmer? I did. As long as you are stationary, aggro will not change and it will kill stuff. woo-hoo. Even if it makes run shorter by few seconds, it is worth one free click.

We are talking about making a cons usable in explorable, I gave the example of Essence (probably the most powerfull cons) as any other cons would have been another example.
If we get EL. Summoning stone... what will be the next step ? Everlasting Birthday Cupcake ? Everlasting Armor of Salvation...
Atm, only useless/decorative everlasting items are available. Everlasting summoning Stone would be the first Everlasting cons ever. (apart imp not usable for level 20).

Apparently you never have had or read the summoning stone description. Only ONE can be up at a time. So your Pokemon idea is dead.
If Anet was to make an EL summoning stone then they should keep it under the same rules as the regular stone but should add a recharge time onto the stone. Kinda like the home stone or w/e it is in WoW. So once you use the stone it disables it for an hour even through zones. This makes it viable and not overpowered by being able to trade to friends as soon as the first summoned creature dies.
